We've been at the 7th International Conference on Mechanics and Materials
June 16, 2017
In this conference, Critical Materials S.A. presented two different works. The first work entitled “DESIGN OF A CRUSHABLE THERMAL PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR THE EARTH
RE-ENTRY CAPSULE” which was developed under the ESA project “Design of a Crushable TPS for the ERC”, to Investigate a multifunctional thermal protection structure that simultaneously acts as a heat shield for planetary re-entry and brings an adequate impact response during hard landing. Also in the M2D2017 conference, it was presented the work entitled “A REVIEW OF SPECTRAL AND CONVENTIONAL METHODS FOR CYCLE COUNTING AND FATIGUE LIFE ESTIMATION; EXTENSION TO FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS”. This work reports the first results obtained with the project SHM TB30 (funded by the European Regional Development Fund), which is developed in consortium with the Portuguese Air Force (PoAF) and the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST).
